5.0 out of 5 stars · A moving slice of Americana, beautifully told
“A Streak of Dakota Dust” is a warm, thoughtful memoir filled with vivid memories of family, place, and growing up in a very different America. The author, Kenneth Goetz, has a wonderful eye for the small details that make the past come alive, but what stayed with me most was the humanity of the book—the people, relationships, losses, and moments of grace that shape a life. There’s humor here, too, and an appealing lack of sentimentality. By the end, you feel as though you’ve traveled alongside the author through not only a personal history, but a wonderfully evocative slice of Americana. A heartfelt and rewarding read.
